Frugal Film Project February 2026 - Snowy Weekends

The first weekend in February found much of the country covered in a thick blanket of snow. In my small town of Bellbrook, Ohio we received over 14 inches on the first Sunday in of the month, which broke the all-time record set back in 1978 during the great “Blizzard of ‘78.” I was only 7 years old at the time and don’t remember much about it, other than being off from school for several days.

The amount of snow that fell during that day and subsequent days meant that my usual routine of hiking or going out to take photos on the weekends was interrupted. Not only was the snow dangerous, the temps were near 0 degrees with windchills in the negative 20’s. So for two weekends, my time consisted of shoveling, mall-walking for exercise, and hanging out at the bar of our favorite restaurant. Oh, and I did manage to make it to a local park one afternoon when the windchill was a balmy -10. And of course, for all of that I carried my trusty Rolleicord to make some images for my February Frugal Film Project roll.

Below are all 12 images from the roll. Click on the first image to view them larger and scroll through.

The snow finally melted last week, but now as I am typing we are getting a fresh batch of snow. It’s not quite the dumping that folks on the East coast are getting today, but still enough for Old Man Winter to remind us that he’s sticking around for a little while more.

As always, thanks for reading and stay warm.

Jeremy
