Frugal Film Project May 2025 - “Frugal” While Birding

For May’s Frugal Film Project images, my theme was “Whatever looks interesting to me while I am out birding in different locations around Ohio”. Whew, that was too long for a title so let’s just call it “Frugal While Birding”.

Basically my pattern was to carry my Canon Canonet QL19 loaded with a roll of Fuji 400 Color slung over one shoulder while I had my “big” birding camera set-up on the other shoulder. This was an interesting experiment because it kind of had a “tourist” feel about the shots.

Below are my favorites from the roll, shot in various locations all over Ohio.

As a birder, I am the first to admit to the fact that when I am out birding, I get into this mode where it is ALL about the birds, and I forget to take a moment to stop and look around to see the beauty of the locations I am in. This month’s roll reminded me stop and take it in when I can.

Once again Ferris was right.

Thanks for reading,

Jeremy
